Of the two varieties of yams being tested in this department, that called Gamboma yam and Bété-Bété, a variety imported from Benin, the IPCC of Pokola has been declared the largest producer, far exceeding the production expected from the localities of Mokéko , Salapoumbé and Sembé. Undoubtedly, out of 49 kg of medium-quality seeds received, the IPCC Bosséka de Pokola managed to produce approximately 676.5 kg of Bété-Bété yams in just seven months, through 18 12 m logs planted, of which seven were planted with heads. Eleven other varieties were sown with mini sets, for a total of 257 harvested plants, including 177 from mini sets.

Pokola owes this high productivity to the fertility of its soil, but above all to the good management of the crop, remarkable through three moments. This is the making of logs properly done, including weeding performed early and the staking of plans made early, with sufficiently high stakes.
