Soy is a very useful food, rich in proteins and which can replace meat, eggs, cheese, milk or fish. Soybeans are a very rich source of essential nutrients. Regular consumption of soy can reduce the risk and progression of breast and prostate cancer. This evidence comes from Japan, where an average of 30 mg of soy isoflavones are consumed per day, and where there is a much lower rate of these diseases. Soybeans can even be a replacement for hormone therapy for people with a history of breast cancer, bleeding, fibroids, liver disease or blood clots. Of the 5 compounds that discourage cancer and are found in high concentrations in soybeans, isoflavones are the most important. This compound has the ability not only to prevent normal cells from becoming cancerous, but also to stun the effects of the hormones estrogen that contribute to the development of breast, endometrial and ovarian cancers. It is said that with just one daily serving of soy a day, the incidence of cancer can be reduced by 50%.

Adding soy products and eating more fruits and vegetables is good because it can also reduce the risk of a number of heart or cardiovascular diseases. For a healthy person, one serving per day is sufficient, and during menopause, up to two servings per day. For heart disease and osteoporosis, or as an extra step for people with cancer, you will need three servings.
