Trade Facilitation: UNCTAD launches the first capacity building seminar of the National Trade Facilitation Committee (CNFE).
This seminar, opened this March 9, 2020, at the Brazzaville Chamber of Commerce, responds to the first module of the four seminars programmed in this context by the United Nations Commission for Trade and Development (UNCTAD), in the Republic of Congo.
Organized in partnership with the African Development Bank and the Economic Commission of Central African States, this workshop aims to provide members of this committee with useful knowledge related to trade facilitation which is key of international business activities. Composed of members from the private, public and civil society sectors, concerned with trade issues, the CNFE derives its existence from the recommendations of the World Trade Organization (WTO), and, among other things, has the task of working to to identify structural inefficiencies with a view to bringing about the reforms inherent in facilitating trade and boosting the competitiveness of goods, both for export and import. Supervised by two UNCTAD experts, the work of this workshop was launched by the director of the cabinet of the Minister of State, Minister for Trade, Supply and Consumption, Victor Ngouilou YAMOUSSOUNGOU. This work will extend until March 12, 2020
